The Conservatives and mental health

Gavin Barwell

Emma West is on trial, over a You Tube video of her on a Croydon Tram that was seen by over 11 million people. Without knowing the full facts about how the incident started or knowing Emma’s mental history Gavin Barwell, Conservative MP for Croydon Central, put a link to the video up on his blog which clearly showed her young son’s face and tweeted that “its people like her we could do without in this country”. Emma suffers from Bipolar which she is getting help for; she is also one of Gavin Barwell’s constituents.
Barwell isn’t the only Conservative trying to have this poor lady persecuted; Cllr Vidhi Mohan was pleased to see the aggressive and racist response from other passengers, writing on Barwell’s blog: “Well said Gavin. The woman’s comments were deplorable and it was good to see they got a strong reaction from the other passengers on the Tram, demonstrating how the people of Croydon abhor racism”. In the video that the Tories are talking about, there is a violent reaction from a young black man and a black woman repeats the vile racist lie put about by the mass media that British people don’t want to work.
The Conservatives Party have also been criticised over the handling of mental health issues in the past, when previous Croydon Central MP, Andrew Pelling suffered from depression, David Cameron wrote a personal letter to Croydon Central residents urging them not to vote for Andrew Pelling, this came as Croydon Conservatives released 7 pages of anti-Pelling notes highlighting Mr Pelling’s previous mental health problems.
In November at a Hornchurch People’s Question Time, Mayor of London Boris Johnson made an off the cuff comment referring to John Biggs, Labour Assembly Member for City and East as “care in the community”.
It would appear that the Conservative Party while condemning racism (excluding anti-White/British racism) and championing homosexuality is openly engaging in Mental Health Prejudice.

CPS claims of death threats called into question

The Police are only investigating one threat against Emma West, despite the Crown Persecution Service claiming there have been a number of threats. When asked about the investigation into death threats to Emma, D.I. Paul Kerr of Croydon Borough Violent Crime Team said “So far I have had around 30 complaints in relation to one particular posting. This is the posting that is currently under investigation.” D.I. Kerr wouldn’t say if this had been reported by the CPS.
It would appear that the CPS felt the threats were serious enough to be the only reason for remanding Emma, but didn’t consider them serious enough to report them to the Police.
Fortunately Emma has now been released on bail by the Crown Court, to spend Christmas with her family.
The local media have been entirely one sided in the reporting of this story. The Croydon Advertiser reported on the case and completely failed to mention the fact that she was remanded for her own safety, due to alleged death threats and even condemned several groups for supporting her. The Advertiser has never questioned what happened to start the confrontation or why ethnic’s don’t get arrested for similar or worse on public transport.
In contrast, Viktor Kovacs a man accused of masturbating outside a school, in view of children, stood smugly in the dock with a bag that had an anti-CCTV slogan on it. He was bailed to appear at Croydon Crown Court on 20th January next year with the only condition that he doesn’t go within 50m of St Philomena’s Catholic High School for Girls or Pound Street, Carshalton, with no mention of other schools, parks or places with children. This happened in the same court on the same day as Emma West was remanded yet none of the local papers reported the story. They clearly see swearing on a Tram as worse the paedophilia.

Gavin Leaky Barwell

In 2009 the Conservative Party sent out a questionnaire to a number of unsuspecting Croydon residents including British National Party Stalwart Cliff Le May. In response to one of the questions Cliff asked Mayor of London Boris Johnson, to “stop ruining out community by stuffing New Addington with violent immigrants who have no right to live among decent civilised white people”.
When Gavin Barwell got his grubby little hands on the questionnaire, his response was to hand it over to Aline Nassif, a reporter with the Croydon Advertiser, who without questioning the source of the information wrote the attached article http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/Croydon-BNP-election-candidate-investigated-immigrants-rant/story-11367360-detail/story.html .
When I took over as Croydon and Sutton Organiser of the British National Party, I started to look into the legality of the Leak and found it looked Illegal under the Data Protection Act 1998. I spoke with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and was advised that most data protection issues can be resolved by contacting the organisation responsible without going through the ICO. I wrote to Croydon Conservatives who refused to take the situation seriously and again went to the Croydon Advertiser this time to Gareth Davies who wrote http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/MP-rejects-BNP-claim-rant-published/story-11361571-detail/story.html.
I wrote to the ICO who looked into the case and contacted the Croydon Conservative Federation (CCF), the CCF has recognised their error and to prevent reoccurrences of the circumstances are considering compiling and retaining a guidance note for staff. They also intend running a data protection/information security awareness programme.
Rather than embracing the opportunity to be trained in information security, Gavin Barwell took the extraordinary decision to condemn the Information Commissioner on twitter “GavinBarwellMP Great story here @Gareth Davies09 Information Commissioner trying to protect privacy of racist standing for public office @tonyleemartin”. Ironically he tweeted this the day after attending a Black Minority Ethnic Forum.
When contacted by Croydon and Sutton British National Party about an apology, Gavin Leaky Barwell said “Have no intention of apologising. Fact you have gone to such lengths to stop people hearing Cliff’s views speaks volumes”.
Croydon and Sutton British National Party have no intention of stopping people hearing Cliff’s views, which are at the top of the article; our intention is to have the people of Croydon Central represented by an MP with integrity. If anyone has the intention of stopping people hearing Cliff’s or other BNP views its Gavin Barwell’s friends at the Croydon Advertiser who invited all Croydon Central candidates except Cliff to hustings. When challenged over this, the lack of reporting on Croydon Conservatives links to the IRA and Lie’s printed about another BNP member Gareth Davies said ” Invitations were to the top four parties at 2006 local elections. BNP came 6th, with 1.4% of vote.” Gareth wouldn’t give an answer to where the Monster Raving Loony Party (who was invited to hustings) came in 2006.
